CaneLink is the University of Miami's student information system, available at canelink.miami.edu. Those with proxy access, e.g., for delegates or parents, will continue using the classic CaneLink experience (previously known as "full site" on the CaneLink home page) to access a student's record, using the "CaneLink for Proxy" tile on the CaneLink home page.
The UMIT Service Desk is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide CaneLink support: call (305) 284-6565 or email help@miami.edu. To recover your CaneID and/or password, please visit caneid.miami.edu.
A proxy user is a person that has been given access to a student's record in CaneLink. Delegate and proxy are synonymous.
Navigate to canelink.miami.edu and click "CaneLink for Proxy" on the CaneLink home page to access it.
Proxy access may include billing and online payments and grade information. The student has the power to grant and revoke proxy access at any time using the Proxy Delegation tab located on the Dashboard menu.
Yes. Ensure that your student has selected UM Billing and Online Payments in the Proxy Delegation tab on CaneLink to grant you access on their behalf.
Check your junk email folder. If the email is not there, ask your student to resend the email notification to you by clicking the Proxy Delegation tab located on the Dashboard menu, and selecting the resend email notification button.
Each student must follow the steps for approving proxy access for you.
